On Wednesday 25 November the Cumbria Weddings and Events networking group hosted their very own Christmas market in the Cecil Street Project.
The event was an opportunity for members of the CWE to showcase their talents, with stalls selling a variety of arts and crafts, including jewellery, accessories and baby wear.
One stall holder, former CIA student Andrea Michelle Nixon said; “We wanted to put together an event to celebrate our group and thought Christmas would be a good time to do this as people would be looking for unusual gifts”
As well as crafts available to buy, Dance Ahead, a local choreography group exhibited their work, providing two living statues. Choreographer Zoe Gadd explained the girls were “loosely based on Alice in Wonderland, presenting a themed duet that used signature moves to portray their characters and themes of curiosity and wonder.”
The evening also raised awareness of Cecil Street residents Pimpfish Clothing and their range of eco-friendly t-shirts, as well as Lancashire based jewellery designer Janet Ashton- Brooks whose range includes liquorice allsorts bracelets.
